T minus 21 days

So, it's December already and the big day is rapidly approaching. Since we're constantly inundated with people saying "I'M SO JEALOUS!!!!!" (or words to that effect) Juliet and I will be posting thoughts, comments and pictures of out travels here for you all to follow along.

It's not long now, so we're sorting out our vaccinations and think we have covered pretty much all the bases, so it's just packing and waiting. A few last minute changes mean we're going to skip Colorado in the States and check out Chicago instead A few reasons for this: 1) It's the home of the ISO in the states, and it'll be fascinating to see how that is run there, 2) just outside Chicago one can find FermiLab, one of the most widely recognised names in High Energy Physics after CERN. They do tours around their facilities and even around their super powerful Linear Collider. F*%k yeah! 3) Why not?

Anyway, If you're curious, we have composed a travel plan, based on the bus passes we have etc. Check it out and let us know what you think!
We will be starting essentially in Mexico City, working our way down and across to Cancun, a week in Cuba, then back to carry on down through Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and finally Panama, all by bus (except Cuba of course, unless they have the Magic School Bus giving tours in Cancun). Then wehop on a plane and being our whirlwind tour of the US of A. 3 days in each city, with family to visit in most and many, many sights to be seen. Finally, when we can stand no more, it's back on the plane, losing an entire day in the air, to fall asleep on NZ soil.

Hurrah!
